Boys Defeated by Lynx

On Tuesday, January 11th, the Southeast Valley Varsity Boys' basketball team traveled east on Highway 20 to meet up against the Lynx of Webster City.  


After the opening period, Southeast Valley found themselves down 6-18, trailing their largest deficit after just one quarter of play all season. The Jaguars answered back with a strong defensive showing in the 2nd quarter, allowing Webster City to score only three points in the second period, with the Jaguars now down 17-21 at the break. Ultimately, this was the closest SV could recover as both teams tied 27-27 in the second half and the Jaguars were defeated 44-48. The loss to Webster City now marks Southeast Valley's third loss of the season decided by four points or less.  


Kolson Kruse led the way in scoring with his 16 points, 5 boards, and 4 steals. Justin Loseke was next with 7 points and 4 steals in the game. Aaron Graves finished with just 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Kaleb Scott and Tre Fisher each contributed with 4 points scored, with K. Scott also adding two offensive rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot. The duo of Andrew Miller and Nate Scott each scored 2 points to round out the Jaguar scoring. Carl Berglund recorded both an assist and a steal coming off the bench. Carter Ferry played but did not score.  


End of Quarter Scores: WC led 18-6, 21-17, 38-30, and 48-44.

The Varsity record now sits at 7-5 after back-to-back losses.
