Great Team Ball, Hot Shooting From 3pt Land Leads to 65-29 Triumph
The SV junior varsity boys' basketball team played great together on Monday, January 29th, winning by the score of 65-29 over Sioux Central. The game was played at home in the Gowrie High School Gymnasium.
Solid half court offensive sets and finding open teammates helped propel an offensive showing that resulted in 9 made three pointers in the game, five of them in the first half. As a team, the Jaguars shot 9 for 15 from deep. The JV squad also had 16 steals on the night, and 15 assists.
Every member of the team scored on the night, led by Byrce Harrison and his game-high 18 points and 8 rebounds. Gauge Jones also reached double figures in scoring, tallying 11 points on 5 for 7 shooting from the field.
Hayden Butrick was 3 for 6 from the field and added 8 points in the game. Karson Roper chipped in with 7 points and 3 steals. Ethan Tucker and Cornell Lowery both scored 4 points; Tyler Jondle, Lincoln Akins, and Spencer Peterson all scored 3 points; and Nick Field and Hayden Greene both scored 2 points in the game. The JV record now sits at 8-7 on the season.
