Jag Boys Fall to Roland-Story

The Southeast Valley Varsity Boys' basketball team faced a solid Roland-Story team on Monday, January 10th on the road, falling by the score of 44-47. A cold night shooting the basketball from beyond the arc (2-12 as a team) and 17 Jaguar turnovers foiled SV's attempt at an upset road victory.

The game was close throughout the contest, with each end of the quarter-breaks under three points or less. Southeast Valley led 18-17 at the halftime break before allowing R-S to score 30 points in the second half to SV's 26.

Aaron Graves, returning to the lineup after his impactful performance on the gridiron in the All-American Bowl game in San Antonio, TX, paced the Jaguars in scoring with 20 points on 10-18 shooting from the field. Perhaps a bit rusty after an exciting week for him and his family, Graves missed his first eight FG attempts before closing out the contest shooting 10-10 from the paint. Graves also added 4 rebounds and 3 assists for his efforts on the hardwood. Kolson Kruse finished with 9 points, a game-high 10 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot. Tre Fisher added 6 points, 2 assists, and one blocked shot attempted by the R-S offense. Justin Loseke also chipped in with 6 points scored, while also securing 3 rebounds in the game. Kaleb Scott tallied 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot. Rounding out the Jaguar scoring was Drew Corell with 3 points and 3 rebounds. Carl Berglund also played in the game.

End of Quarter Scores: R-S led 8-6, SV led 18-17, R-S led 34-32.
