JV Boys at West Bend
On Friday, December 2nd, the Southeast Valley Basketball programs traveled up north to West Bend for some basketball action on the hardwood. In the JV game for the Boys, the Jaguars came out victorious with a 41-22 outcome.
In the first quarter, both teams struggled to score, with only 11 points scored in the opening quarter and the Jaguars trailing 5-6 at the end of the first quarter break. The Jaguars stepped up their defensive pressure in the 2nd quarter, applying full-court pressure and turned defense into easy offense. In the second quarter alone, the Jaguars outscored the Wolverines 17-4. The Jaguars continued playing solid defense opening the second half, not allowing a single point scored for the first five minutes of the 3rd quarter. In the end, the Jaguars ended up outscoring West Bend 10-5 in the fourth quarter and earned the 19 point win. Although the Jaguars nearly won the game by 20+, the Jaguars were just 25% from the field, shooting 16 for 65 from the floor.
The Jaguars used a balanced offensive attack, with 8 of the 9 JV players scoring. Tyler Moreland and Brady Hanson each scored 8 points, with Lincoln Akins and Jace Hanson each scoring 7 points. Preston Kennedy added 5 points, and the trio of Nick Field, Ross Larson, and Brad Pliner all scored 2 points.
