JV Boys Basketball Defeats West Bend Mallard
The Southeast Valley Boys' JV team defeated the Wolverines from West Bend-Mallard on Friday, December 4th with the score of 70-30.
Southeast Valley used hot shooting from deep to help balloon a 23 point lead at halftime to a decisive 40 point victory in the end. As a team, the Jaguars made 10 total 3 pointers, shooting 63% from 3-point land. A total of 5 individual Jaguars reached double-figures in scoring, an impressive feat on its own, showcasing solid teamwork and sharing of the ball. The young Jags combined for a total of 15 assists in the ball game, doubling the amount of assisted baskets from the night before versus the Madrid Tigers.
Pacing the Jaguars in scoring was Carter Ferry with 16 points on 7-10 shooting from the field, while also tallying 3 assists and 3 steals. Freshman Brady Hanson went 3-3 from 3-point range, scoring 11 points and earning 3 assists. The trio of Ross Larson (2-3 3pt), Hane Sorenson (2-5 3pt), and Andrew Miller rounded out the double-figure scoring effort with 10 points each. Miller recorded a team-high 7 rebounds in the contest. Tyler Moreland continued his solid post play, scoring 5 points and gathering 6 caroms off the glass. Nate Scott chipped in with 4 points, 4 rebounds (3 offensive rebounds), and 2 blocked shots attempted by the Wolverine offense. Rounding out the scoring were Dalton Crouse and Ethan Ackerson each scoring 2 points. Jace Hanson contributed 3 rebounds and 1 blocked shot coming off the bench. Also playing in the game and contributing in the win was Gavin Weier and Drake Warland.
