JV Boys Basketball @ Madrid 12.3.24
The JV Boys for the Southeast Valley basketball program opened up their 2024-'25 season with a road victory over the Madrid Tigers on Tuesday, December 3rd.
The young Jaguars secured a 60-32 victory; led by Sophomore Bryce Harrison and Junior Cornell Lowery, both reaching the double digit scoring column with 15 and 11 points scored, respectively. Harrison also led the team in rebounds and steals, recording 8 of each.
Hayden Greene showcased a solid game offensively, showing his talents in the paint and scored 8 points on 4-6 shooting 2pt FG's. Karson Roper added 7 points with three assists and a couple steals on the night. Hayden Butrick chipped in 5 points and 2 assists. The duo of Kolton Ollinger and Lincoln Akins each contributed with 4 points off the bench. Ian Brunner played limited time at the JV level, setting up his teammates with easier shots and attacked the Madrid defense when appropriate, scoring three points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in two quarters of play. Ethan Tucker added three points to round out the Jaguar scoring on the night. Also contributing in the win were Spencer Peterson and Declan McGuire.
The JV ball club had a great night sharing the ball with their teammates and finding the open threat to score, finishing with 17 total assists in the game. Defensively, the young Jags also forced plenty of Tiger turnovers, tallying 14 total steals on the defensive end of the floor. A total of seven Jaguar players earned a steal in the game.
