JV Boys Basketball @ Webster City

Webster City-- The JV Boys defeated Webster City 62-48 Tuesday night. The game was played in Webster City.  


After the first quarter of play being a back and forth, and with the Lynx holding a slight 15-13 advantage, the Jaguar defense stepped up tremendously in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Jaguars only allowed 5 points in the 2nd quarter, and 7 points in the 3rd. Entering the final quarter of play the young Jaguars held a 20 point advantage before Webster City made a push at closing the gap. In the end, the Jaguars held off the Lynx and connected on 6 of 8 free throws to earn the 14 point win.  


Conner Rentz and Landon Vote led the Jags in scoring with 17 and 16 points respectively. Rentz added 5 steals, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Vote connected on 3 of his 5 three point attempts, while also matching Rentz in the steals department with 5 takeaways.  


Caden Cramer was the third Jaguar to reach double-figures in scoring, chipping in with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Dawson Tuel contributed heavily with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and one blocked shot. Jacob Paterson added 6 points and 2 rebounds. Carver Peterson added 4 points, and Spencer Peterson added 2 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Declan McGuire finished with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and one steal. Colby Peterson earned an offensive rebound in the contest.
