JV Boys Down SCC on the Road
The Southeast Valley Junior Varsity Boys' basketball team defeated SCC by the score of 47-23 in Lake City on Monday, January 24th, improving to 12-3 on the basketball court this season.
It was a slow start to get the game flow going, but SV picked up the intensity defensively and improved on their rebounding to help SV pull away from the Titans early in the third quarter. Southeast Valley used a huge 2nd half to widen out the 24 point victory, outscoring the home team 18-7 in the 3rd quarter and 10-3 in the 4th quarter.
Andrew Miller led all scorers with 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-5 FT) and 9 total rebounds. Carter Ferry added 7 points and the trio of Brady Hanson, Jace Hanson, and Tyler Paterson all scored 4 points each. Paterson and J. Hanson both rebounded well for the Jaguars, with Paterson securing 6 rebounds and J. Hanson securing 5. Scoring two points apiece were Dalton Crouse, Nate Scott, and Eli Johnson. Crouse finished with 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocked shots attempted by the SCC offense. Drake Warland ended up with 5 total offensive rebounds in the game, while also earning one steal on the defensive end of the floor. Ross Larson tallied 2 offensive rebounds in the win. Tyler Moreland, Hane Sorenson, and Ethan Ackerson also played in the game.
