JV Boys @ Newell-Fonda 1.19.24
On Friday, January 19th, the JV Boys earned a commanding 59-31 road victory over the Mustangs of Newell-Fonda, bouncing back after a competitive matchup with Manson Northwest Webster.
The Jaguars used a commanding 2nd quarter to pull away from the Mustangs, outscoring N-F 17-4 in the 2nd quarter. After identifying the Newell-Fonda scores, and adjusting defensively, the Jaguars outscored the Mustangs 48-20 in the final three quarters of action.
Tyler Jondle shined bright on the night, leading the Jaguars in scoring with 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the field (1-1 from deep) and 2-2 from the free throw line. Jondle also contributed with 3 assists and 2 steals. Cornell Lowery reached double figures in the scoring column, adding 11 points and 5 rebounds. Guage Jones matched Lowery in rebounding, earning 5 caroms off the glass, while also scoring 9 points on 4-6 shooting from the floor. Hayden Butrick added 8 points and Hayden Greene added 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. Bryce Harrison scored 4 points and had a team high (and possibly a game high) 5 steals on the night. Nick Field added 4 points and 2 steals for his efforts in the contest. The duo of Karson Roper and Lincoln Akins rounded out the SV in scoring with 2 points a piece. Akins also earned 3 rebounds, and Roper tallied 3 steals. Spencer Peterson finished with 3 assists and 2 steals, and Ethan Tucker finished with 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
