JV Boys vs. East Sac County
Gowrie-- The JV Jaguar Boys earned a solid team win here Friday night, defeating East Sac County by the score of 51-31.
The Jaguars controlled the game from the opening tip, winning all four quarters and showcasing unselfish basketball with 17 assists on the night. SV jumped out to a 17-13 lead after the first quarter, highlighted by a momentum-swinging buzzer-beater three-pointer from Dawson Tuel as the horn sounded.
Defense took over in the second quarter, as the Jaguars clamped down and held the Raiders scoreless. That surge allowed SV to extend its advantage to 25-13 by halftime, firmly taking control of the contest.
Jacob Paterson led the Jaguars with a strong all-around effort, recording a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Conner Rentz and Caden Cramer each reached double figures as well, contributing 10 points apiece to help seal the victory. Cramer also collected 5 caroms off the glass, and Rentz came up with 3 rebounds and 3 steals in the game.
Carver Peterson shot 50% from 3pt land, scoring 6 points and contributed with a season high 5 assists. Dawson Tuel scored 5 points, all in the opening quarter. Spencer Peterson chipped in with 4 points, 7 rebounds, and one blocked shot.
Colby Petrerson and Ben Wanat each scored a bucket for two points a piece. Declan McGuire earned 3 steals and one assist for his efforts.
The Jaguars close out the season with two more home games next week. They will host Greene County on Monday, Feb. 9th; and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Thursday, Feb. 12th.
