The SV junior varsity boys basketball team hosted Pocahontas Area on January 23, falling by the score of 38-49.   The contest was the second of back-to-back nights on the hardwood for the JV boys. The game was also SV's first home game since December 12th.  

The young Jaguars and Indains were all knotted up at the half-time break, with the scoreboard reading 20-20. Unfortunately, in the 2nd half, the Jaguars were out scored 29-17 in the final 14 minutes of the ball game.  

Bryce Harrison scored a game high 12 points, with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Gauge Jones added 7 points and Nick Field contributed with 6 points and 5 rebounds. The duo of Tyler Jondle and Cornell Lowery scored 4 points each. Jondle led the team in steals with 4, while Conrell led the team in rebounding with 7. Lincoln Akins added 3 points and 2 rebounds. Karson Roper rounded out the scoring with his 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Hayden Butrick, Ethan Tucker and Spencer Peterson all collected and earned two rebounds on the night, with Butrick also recording one blocked shot attempt. Hayden Greene added 2 assists in the ball game.
