Southeast Valley JV Boys Wrap Up Their Season

The Southeast Valley Junior Varsity Boys' basketball team wrapped up thier '21-'22 season on Thursday, February 10th, falling to Clarion-Goldfield-Dows by the score of 26-38. The JV team finished the season with a 14-5 record, matching the exact same record last year's JV group put together.

For the game, Southeast Valley kept it close in the first half, only trailing by two points at the end of the opening quarter, down 9-11; and down by five at the halftime break, trailing 17-22. SV struggled offensively in the second half, only scoring a total of 9 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters combined. In the 3rd quarter alone, SV was outscored 15-4. Although the Jags faced a 16 point deficit entering the 4th quarter, they gave great energy and effort in their full-court pressure defense and outscored the Cowboys 5-1 in the final quarter of the game. Four consecutive three point baskets made by the Cowboys towards the end of the first quarter and carried on into the start of the 2nd quarter really made an impact towards the outcome of the game.

Carter Ferry paced the Jaguars in scoring with 10 points and 2 assists. Tyler Moreland scored 5 points and led the team in rebounding with 7 boards. Jace Hanson chipped in with 4 points and one blocked shot. Nate Scott added 3 points. Dalton Crouse added 2 points and 5 rebounds, and Carl Berglund finished with 2 points scored. Drake Warland, Ross Larson, Brady Hanson, and Tyler Paterson all played and contributed in the game as well.

Coach Johnson, Coach Gutshall, Coach Sorenson, and Coach Dahlstrom congratulate the JV team on a successful season; and look forward to continued success, dedication, and improvement in the years to come, both on and off the basketball floor.

End of Quarter Scores: CGD led 11-9, 22-17, 37-21.
