Southeast Valley High School student council officers recently attended a Leadership Bootcamp in Mason City. This one-day training was for student council officers and executive boards which used interactive lessons to teach students how to be successful officers and leaders. The event was hosted by the Iowa Association of Student Councils (known as IAStuCo). Throughout the day students participated in activities that pushed them to get out of their comfort zone and realize that being out of their comfort zone can be part of being a student leader. The group had time to collaborate working on a purpose statement to guide them through the rest of the school year. The group is excited to bring back new ideas while continuing the traditions that have been established by previous Southeast Valley Student Councils.
