JV States/Articles - Week 4:

Monday June 16: vs Pocahontas (Home)

The JV played against the Pocahontas Indians at Harcourt. Because of the weather, the JV played after Varsity, but was called halfway through the 1st inning because of weather. While on offense, Goldie Davis, Sage Lane, Meia Hefley, and Peyton Lockner all made it on base with Goldie and Sage both making it across the plate. On defense, Karly Rae had a strikeout and a throw to 1st for 2 outs and Devon Olson had a throw to 1st to get the last out. After being called for weather, the Jags were up 2-0 against the Indians.

Tuesday June 17: vs Eagle Grove (Away)

The JV traveled to Eagle Grove to play against the Eagles. While on offense, Sage Lane got on base with a walk, Devon Olson got on base with a hit out to center field for a single and got a double on her 2nd at bat and scored, Chloe Richardson got on base with a walk and scored a run, Toviah Wheeling got on base with a walk, and Taylor Goeders got on base with a walk as well. While on defense, Karley Rae Smith had 6 strikeouts and an unassisted out while on the mound, Peyton Lockner had an out throwing from 3rd to 1st, Addy Lundquist had an out while at 2nd base throwing to 1st and 1 strikeout while on the mound, and Jacey Carlson had an unassisted out at 2nd base. The Jags played hard but came up short with a 3-2 loss.

Wednesday June 18: vs East Sac County (Away)

The JV game was not played because of the weather.

Friday June 20: vs Storm Lake St. Mary's (Home)

The JV did not play because St. Mary's does not have a JV team.

Monday June 23: vs Newell-Fonda (Away)

The Jags traveled to Fonda for an away game against the Newell-Fonda Mustangs. While on offense, Peyton Lockner got on base 2 times by being walked; Devon Olson got a single with a solid hit and scored; Sage Lane got on base by being walked and scored, as well as getting a single with a hard hit to right field; Meia Hefley got on base 2 times with a solid hit while at bat; Taylor Goeders got on base 2 times by being walked; and Jocelyn Wheeling got on a base with a solid hit to the right side. While on defense, Addy Lundquist had an out throwing from 2nd to 1st base and an unassisted out at 2nd base, she also had an unassisted out and strikeout while on the mound; Karley Rae Smith had an out throwing to 1st, an unassisted out, and 2 strikeouts while on the mound; Devon Olson had 3 outs throwing from shortstop to 1st base; Taylor Goeders had an unassisted out while out in left field; and Sage Lane had an unassisted out while at 1st base. The Jags played hard but lost to the Mustangs 2-7.

Wednesday June 25: vs GTRA (Home)

The Jags played against GTRA in Harcourt after the Varsity game. While on offense, Goldie Davis on base with a single 2 times and scored both times; Danielle Bethel got on base 2 times - once by being walked and the other with a hit to left field, she also scored both times; Sage Lane got on base with a solid hit and scored; Addy Lundquist got on base 2 times with solid hits and scored the 2nd time she was on base; Jaylon Zika got on base twice by being walked and scored both times; Jacey Carlson made it on base by being walked; Chloe Richardson also made it on base by being walked and scored; Jocelyn Wheeling got on base 2 times, once by being walked and the other with a single. While on defense, Devon Olson had 2 outs by throwing from shortstop to 1st base; Karley Rae Smith had 3 strikeouts while on the mound; Sage Lane had out throwing to Addy Lundquist, who covered 1st base; Addy Lundquist had an out throwing from the mound to 1st base; and Peyton Lockner had 3 outs throwing from 3rd base to 1st base. The Jags won against the Titans 9-5.

Thursday June 26: vs Iowa Falls-Alden (Home)

The games were canceled because of the weather.

Friday June 27: vs South Central Calhoun (Home)

The Jags played against the Titans for the second time but at Harcourt. While on offense, Goldie Davis got on base 2 times with a solid hit to the left side of the field both times, she also scored once; Peyton Lockner Got on base twice - once by being walked and once by being hit by the pitch, she also scored both times while on base; Danielle Bethel got on base twice by being walked both times, she also scored both times on base; Sage Lane got on base once by being hit by a pitch and scored; Meia Hefley got on base twice - once with being hit by a pitch and once by being walked; Addy Lundquist got on base twice - once with being walked and the other with a hard hit to the left side; Jaylon Zika got on base by being hit by the pitch and scored; Taylor Goeders got on base by being walked and scored; Jacey Carlson got on base with a hard hit and scored; Chloe Richardson got on base by being walked; Jocelyn Wheeling got on base by being hit by the pitch and scored; Toviah Wheeling got on base by being walked and scored; Devon Olson got on base with a hard hit to left side and scored; and Karley Rae Smith got on base by being walked. While on defense, Karley Rae Smith had 5 strikeouts and an out throwing from the mound to 1st base; Addy Lundquist had an unassisted out at 2nd base, an out throwing from 2nd to 1st base, and had 2 strikeouts while on the mound; Devon Olson had an out throwing from shortstop to 2nd base; and Jacey Carlson had an out throwing from 2nd base to 1st base. The Jags won against the Titans 12-4.

The JV Jags have 4 games left of the season - Monday June 30 vs Pocahontas (Away); Tuesday July 1 vs Greene County (Home); Wednesday July 2 vs Manson NW Webster (Home); and Monday July 7 vs Webster City (Home).
