SV Softball vs Manson Northwest Webster

The Jaguar softball team fell in their third straight game against the visiting Cougars from Manson Northwest Webster on July 2nd with a final score of 10-12 after seven innings.


The Jags put up a great effort at the plate scoring two early in the game to take the lead 2-1 after two innings of play. Unfortunately, the lead would be short lived when the Cougars regained it by plating four runs in the fourth inning and adding three more in the fifth. The Jags would be down 3-7 going into the sixth inning.


In their half of the sixth, excitement sparked from the Jaguar bats and hitting became contagious! Southeast Valley managed to tie up the game, 7-7 after five, line drive, singles off the bats of Devon Olson, Sage Lane, Camryn Lane, Chloe Lambert, Lauren Eslick. Olson, Sage, Camryn. And Lambert would all come around to score in the offensive effort.


Unfortunately, Manson had an answer for each hit, scoring four more in the top of the seventh that the Jags could not answer. Lambert threw 6 1/3 innings and faced 39 batters - retiring five by way of strikeout.

The loss brings Southeast Valley softball to an even .500 on the season with a record of 12-12 before taking on Webster City on July 7th in Harcourt.
