Girls Track Team Places 4th at the Twin Lakes Conference Track Meet
The girls track team placed fourth at the twin Lakes conference track meet out of 12 teams.
The night started off with Hannah Wicklien placing 5th and Macy Mundt placing 6th in the Discus. They both have shown big improvements the last couple meets and both have been scoring varsity points.
Madelynn Miller had her best jump of the year in Long Jump and placed 7th.
Running events started and Katie Field placed 6th in the 3000 and Charlie Dorsey placed 8th. Katie has worked hard over the years and this is her first time placing at the conference meet. Perfect way to end her 4th year running the 3000
Next was the 4x800 and they placed 4th with Charlotte Blair, Tenley Kastendieck, Emily Wislon and Goldie Davis.
The shuttle hurdle placed third with May Searcy, Madelynn Miller, Sage Lane and Madelyn Farley and set a new personal time this season.
Avrie Hanson placed 3rd in the open 100
Conference champions were the 4 x 2 with Sage Lane, May Searcy, Madelyn Farley and Avrie Hanson. The same group also play second in the 4 x 1
Mae Searcy placed 5th and Madelyn Farley placed 6th in the 100 Hurdles. This is very hard for them as they just ran the 4x200 the race before so they are doing this and are not fully recovered.
Emily Wislon placed 5th in the 800
Avery Hanson is the conference champion in the open 200
Goldie Davis placed 5th in the 1500
It was a very competitive night with great competition. There were about 5 teams trying to win the conference meet. The girls did everything they could. We just could not fill all the events with the injuries we have taken this season but were very happy to still place 4th.
The girls are still waiting for some better weather as we are trying to get a couple school records but with the cold and wind it has been difficult.
The are 2 regular season meets before districts.
