Camryn Lane Sparks Southeast Valley to 43-26 Win Over Clarion Goldfield Dows

Clarion Monday, November 24th — Southeast Valley brought the heat on both ends of the floor Monday night, using lockdown defense and clutch scoring to cruise past Clarion Goldfield Dows, 43-26.

From the opening tip, the Jaguars set the tone. A quick 15-7 first-quarter lead gave them momentum, and relentless defensive pressure forced turnovers that Clarion Goldfield Dows couldn’t recover from. By halftime, Southeast Valley held a commanding 21-11 advantage, with steals and fast-break opportunities creating a near-constant threat.

Camryn Lane was unstoppable, pouring in 30 points and recording 8 steals to anchor the Jaguars’ attack. “Camryn really set the tone for us tonight,” said head coach Kevin Mills. “Her energy and defense sparked everyone else on the floor.”

Sage Lane quietly dominated the boards, grabbing 9 defensive rebounds while contributing 5 assists and 4 steals, keeping the team’s transition game humming. Delaney Sittig added 4 points, 4 offensive rebounds, and 3 assists, while Leah Mills chipped in 4 points and 7 rebounds, helping Southeast Valley control the paint. Karley Rae Smith was a defensive standout, with 4 steals and 8 total rebounds.

Southeast Valley struggled from the field, shooting just 21%, but made up for it at the charity stripe with 54% free-throw shooting and relentless hustle on the glass — finishing with 10 offensive rebounds and 26 defensive rebounds. Their 27 steals and 14 assists highlighted a defense-first approach that Clarion Goldfield Dows simply couldn’t match.

The Cowgirls tried to rally in the third quarter, but Southeast Valley answered, outscoring Clarion Goldfield Dows 18-7 over the final two quarters to seal the win. “Our girls played together, and made the extra effort on defense,” the coach added.

The Jaguars open the season 1-0 and play Madrid on Tuesday, December 2nd and Westbend Mallard Friday, December, 5th. Each of the games have a 6 p.m. Varsity game tip off and are home.
