Southeast Valley Girls Split

Tuesday, December, 6th Gowrie , Iowa -

Varsity

Southeast Valley (2-1) hosted St. Edmond (0-3) for a JV/V double header. The Jaguar defensive tandem of Kenna Scott and Halle Steck combined their efforts each getting a steal and a field goal in the closing seconds of the second quarter to extend the lead to double digits 28 - 15. The team continued to stretch the lead throughout the second half outscoring the Gaels by 14 points throughout the second half.  


Alex Kitchen led Southeast Valley with 17 points 11 rebounds. Kenna Scott 15 points and 8 assists. Madison Lane had 11 points and 4 steals.       


The team pulled down 32 rebounds, came away with 16 steals, distributed the ball for 16 assists, shot 52% from the field, and 44% from the 3 point arc for the night.

Junior Varsity

The JV girls beat St. Edmond 23-22 in regulation. Camryn Lane finished with 8. Madelyn Farley, Mia Simonsen, and Julia Eastman each had 4. Ryliegh McFarland had 3.  


Friday, December 9th Gowrie, Iowa -

Varsity

Southeast Valley (2-2) fell to Emmetsburg (3-2) by a score of 34 - 54 . The Jaguars were down by 8 at halftime before the E’hawks lengthened the lead out scoring the Jaguars 22-13 in the third quarter.  


Breck Mills led Southeast Valley with 19 points 7 rebounds and 3 assists for the night. Alex Kitchen finished with 9 rebounds.       


The team shot 40% from the field and 33% from the three point arc while gathering 9 steals for the night.,

The Jaguars have a busy schedule coming up with 3 away games. Monday, December 12 the Varsity travels to Rockwell City for a 6 p.m. tip-off against South Central Calhoun. Tuesday, December 13th the JV tip-off 4 p.m. and Varsity at 6 in Manson against Manson Northwest Webster. Then the Varsity finishes up at Storm Lake St. Mary’s for a 6 p.m. Varsity tip off.
