Jaguars Earn Conference Win Over Panthers
Gowrie, Iowa - The Southeast Valley Girls Basketball team defeated the Storm Lake St. Mary’s Panthers 44–36 in a conference matchup on Friday, December 19, in Gowrie, Iowa. After trailing 10–8 at the end of the first quarter, the Jaguars took control with a strong second quarter and extended their lead through the second half. Southeast Valley led 30–25 at halftime and 39–29 after three quarters before closing out the win. Camryn Lane led the Jaguars with 25 points and three steals, while Addison Lundquist added 10 points. Sage Lane contributed four points and a team-high 13 rebounds, and Leah Mills finished with five points and five rebounds in the victory.
Cougars Edge Jaguars in Non-Conference Battle
Gowrie, Iowa - The Southeast Valley Girls Basketball Jaguars fell to the Manson Northwest Webster Cougars 34-52 in a contested non-conference game on Tuesday, December 16, in Gowrie, Iowa. The game stayed tight throughout 3 quarters, with Southeast Valley trailing 10–9 after the first quarter and 25–21 at halftime. The Cougars held slim leads of 29–28 after three quarters and were able to hold off the Jaguars down the stretch. Sage Lane led Southeast Valley with 16 points, five rebounds, two steals, and four three-pointers. Addison Lundquist added eight points with two three-pointers, while Camryn Lane contributed five points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the loss.
Titans Defeat Jaguars in Non-Conference Play
Gowrie, Iowa - The Southeast Valley Girls Basketball Jaguars were defeated by the South Central Calhoun Titans 67–34 in a non-conference matchup on Monday, December 15, in Gowrie, Iowa. The Titans built an early lead, outscoring Southeast Valley 19–6 in the first quarter and extending the margin to 37–15 by halftime. Southeast Valley showed improvement in the second half, scoring 19 points after the break, but South Central Calhoun maintained control throughout. Camryn Lane led the Jaguars with 16 points and four assists, while Sage Lane added nine points and three steals. Delaney Sittig finished with four points and a steal, and Addison Lundquist contributed five points and one steal in the loss.
