Jaguar Basketball Update
On Tuesday, January 13th, the Southeast Valley junior high girls basketball team traveled to Eagle Grove for a matchup with the Eagles. The 7th graders got the night started off on a good note. The Jags jumped out to a 12-0 lead and cruised to a 44-4 victory. Taylor Carlson scored 13 points in the win, Lydia Rude had 7 points, Reagan Cramer and Lexi Waugh each contributed 6 points, while Lilly Chapman and Brynley Bachel had 4 points. Averie Kitchen and Aubrey McGuire each chipped in with 2 points for the Jags cause.
In the nightcap, the 8th grader jumped to an early 11-0 lead and also went on to cruise to an impressive 42-7 victory. The Jags were led in scoring by Aubree Richardson’s career high 18 points. Tana Harrison had 13 points, Kaylee Hicks contributed 9 points while Grace Kauffman chipped in with 2 points for the Jags.
Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, “Both groups played hard tonight. We ran the floor well and got a lot of fastbreak opportunities. I like how we are finishing strong at the end of our season. Great job by all the girls and a shout out to Aubree Richardson for getting her career high tonight. The Jags will next be in action as they host the Titans from SCC for their final game of the 2025-2026 campaign. Great job Jags!!
