Junior High Girls Basketball Opens Season

On November 20th, the Southeast Valley junior high girls basketball team hosted the Greene County Rams. The 7th graders opened the night with a tough defensive battle that saw the Rams come out on top with a 12-5 win. The Jags were led in score by Taylor Carlson’s 5 points. In the nightcap, the 8th graders fought hard but came out on the short end with a 26-8 loss. The Jags were led in scoring by Tana Harrison and Kaylee Hicks each with 3 points. Leah Fiala added two points for the Jaguars cause.

Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, “I am proud of the effort and hustle both of our teams put out on the floor tonight. Give Greene County credit they are a team that looked like it was playing its 6th game of the year, while we were just getting started with our first game. I know we can grow from this experience and continue to get better. Hard work and effort will have rewards as we move forward.”

The Jags will travel to Madrid on Tuesday, November 28th for a showdown with the Tigers. Keep up the effort Jags!!
