Jaguar Basketball Update
On Monday, January 12th, the Southeast Valley junior high girls basketball teams traveled to Barnum to face the Cougars of Manson-NW Webster. The 7th grade got the night started with a 31-8 win. The Jags jumped to an early first quarter lead and never looked back. The Jags scoring went as follows: Reagan Cramer 9 points, Taylor Carlson 8 points, Lydia Rude 6 points, Lexi Waugh with 4 points, and Brinlynn Alliger and Brynley Bachel each had 2 points for the Jags. In the nightcap, the 8th graders also jumped out early and put the Cougars away late with a 34-17 win. The Jags were led in scoring by Tana Harrison’s season high 21 points. Aleyah Hoefer contributed with 5 points, while Kaylee Hicks had 4 points and Aubree Richardson and Kensley Cox each chipped in with 2 points.
Coach McCloud is quoted as saying, “Great wins by both of our teams tonight. It was good to see some girls score some points tonight. Hats off to Tana Harrison she shot the 3 ball real well tonight. Also, it was good to see Lydia Rude and the 7th graders shoot the ball well too. Two great wins for the night.”
The Jags will next be in action on Tuesday, January 13th as they travel to Eagle Grove to face the Eagles. Great job Jags!!
