Jaguar Baseball Closes 2026 Season with Sweep at Woodward-Granger
The SV Jaguars wrapped up their 2026 baseball season with a pair of road victories in Granger, as both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams defeated the Woodward-Granger Hawks to close out successful campaigns.
The seventh-grade Jaguars earned a 6-2 victory behind a strong team effort on the mound and at the plate. Caden Haug, Tripp Roper, and Jaxon VanCannon combined to pitch the win, keeping the Hawks in check throughout the game.
Offensively, the Jaguars collected eight hits. Jaxson Halsrud led the way with a perfect 2-for-2 performance, including a double and a single. Jaxson Johnson, Tripp Roper, Caden Haug, Cooper Lane, and Hudson Ulicki each added a base hit as the young Jags produced a balanced offensive attack.
The victory capped a 6-4-1 season for the seventh-grade squad. Despite battling through injuries throughout the summer, the Jaguars continued to compete and show signs of improvement each week. The coaching staff looks forward to seeing the group's continued growth and hard work heading into next season.

The eighth-grade Jaguars completed a perfect season with a hard-fought 6-3 victory over a talented Woodward-Granger squad.
SV built an early 3-0 advantage before the Hawks rallied to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning.
After Boe Davis started on the mound, Bennett Nolte entered in relief for the fourth and fifth innings. Nolte was immediately tested, as Woodward-Granger loaded the bases with no outs following a single, an error, and a walk. With the top of the Hawks' lineup due up, Nolte delivered under pressure, striking out the side to escape the jam and preserve the tie.
The Jaguars answered with timely offense, as Reece Carlson, Boe Davis, and Jaxon VanCannon each came through with key hits when the team needed them most. VanCannon came up with a huge double and Carlson had a nice hard hit ball up the left field foul line as both earned an RBI early on. The Jaguars added three runs in the top of the 5th inning and held on for the 6-3 victory. Davis came up huge with his double that helped expand the lead. Tristan Hanson, Nolte, Wyatt Muench, and Davis all played a part in the final inning with two outs already on the board, completing a nice two-out rally to earn a great team win.
The win completed a remarkable undefeated season for the eighth-grade Jaguars, who finished with an 11-0 record.
