The 7th and 8th Grade baseball teams picked up two more W's on Friday, June 27th. The 7th grade squad won by the score 9-3, and the 8th graders won 12-1.


Jax Hindt got the start on the mound for the first game of the day, striking out six batters in three innings of work. Hindt allowed only one hit versus five base on balls. Grant Ott closed out the last inning, striking out two and giving up one walked batter.  


As a team, the Jaguars earned 8 total hits offensively with the bats. Tristan Hanson, Bennett Nolte, and Wyatt Muench combined to go 5-5 putting the barrel of the bat on the ball, going perfect in the batter's box. Muench went 2-2 with a HR, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored, while Hanson also went 2-2 with a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Nolte went 1-1 with a walk, scored twice, and stole 4 bags on his way around the diamond. Others earning a base hit in the game were Hindt, Ott, and Nolan Albright. Ott and Hindt also scored one run a piece, and Alrbight drove in one RBI. Boe Davis added an RBI and one run scored. The duo of Jaxon Van Cannon and Andrew Wanat each recorded one RBI.


In the second game of the afternoon, August Akins pitched three full innings and did not give up a single hit. Akins did a great job putting the ball around the strike-zone and the defense made great plays behind him. Akins had 3 strikeouts, only 2 walks, and no hits as he faced the minimum 9 batter's in 3 innings. Colton Bachel closed out the game facing only 4 batter's. Bachel had one strikeout and one hit allowed.  


Scoring runs for the Jaguars were Josiah Hefley (2), Tristan Hanson (2), Ethan Martin (2), Bachel (2), Carter Lloyd, Akins, and Jonny Snider (2). Jonny Snider (2), Hanson, Bachel, Jackson Bintz, and Akins (2) all recorded hits in the contest. Bachel, Martin, Hanson, Akins (3), Boe Davis, and Tucker Ollinger all earned an RBI.  


As the season winds down, the Jaguars look forward to finishing the season strong with four game days remaining during the week of June 30th. The 7th grade record sits at 9-0, while the 8th grade record sits at 7-2.
