JH Baseball Opens Season
Ogden-- The JH Baseball season got things swinging on Wednesday, June 3rd with the 8th grade taking game one over the Ogden Bulldogs, winning by the score of 8-2. Jax Hindt pitched a gem of a game, with Bennet Nolte finishing the last half inning on the bump. Wyatt Muench was the other half of the battery. Offensively, it was a great team effort putting the bat to the ball and scoring 8 runs in a complete 5-inning ball game to open up the season.
In the 2nd contest of the day, the 7th grade fell by the score of 12-5. Tripp Roper and Caden Haug both pitched in the game, with Jaxson Halsrud behind the plate catching.
Dayton-- On Thursday, June 4th, it was the 7th grade ball club to open up the double-header with Newell-Fonda. In a close ball game, the Jaguars looked better in the field and at the plate from the previous day, but fell by the score of 2-5. In the bottom of the last inning of play, the Jaguars had the tying run up to bat and had an opportunity to fight back. Cam Johnson pitched consistently throughout and pitched a great game.
In the 8th grade game, Tristan Hanson got things exciting right off the bat with his first inning lead off at-bat with a well struck ball that connected to the barrel of his bat and the next thing the ball made contact with was the scoreboard out in left-center field for a lead-off homerun. The Jaguars continued to put the bat on the ball and won 12-2 over the Mustangs. Boe Davis was a last minute change to pitch and he did a great job on short notice, pitching 3 complete innings. Griffin Vote completed the last 1/3 of an inning with Wyatt Muench and Jaxon VanCannon working together behind the plate.
