JH Baseball Results 6/11-6/13

JH Baseball Home vs. South Central Calhoun

Dayton- The 7th and 8th grade baseball teams welcomed the Titans of SCC on Wednesday, June 11.

           In the first game of the day, the 7th grade ball club won by the score of 13-4. Tristan Hanson started out on the mound, striking out two as he started to find a rhythm on the bump. Jax Hindt pitched two full innings, facing only 7 batters total and gave up only one hit and had three strikeouts. Wyatt Muench closed out the final inning facing the minimum three batters. Catching behind the plate were Meuch and Jaxon Van Cannon.

           Offensively, the Jaguars hit the ball hard, led by Bennett Nolte and Wyatt Muench with a triple each. Tristan Hanson recorded a double and a single, scoring both times he reached base and drove in one RBI. Griffin Vote also matched Hanson, earning a double and single in his two at-bats, scoring twice as well as driving in two RBI in the five-spot in the batting order. Jaxon Van Cannon also matched Hanson and Vote, adding yet another double, single combo. Van Cannon drove in a game-high 3 RBI. Reece Carlson added a hit and one RBI in the opening inning of the ball game. Jax Hindt earned two base-on-balls, and scored twice. Also scoring in the contest were Muench, Nolte, Carlson, Jaxson Johnson, and Grant Ott. 

           In the 8th grade contest, SV won by the score of 11-2. After a slow start and a 1-0 score after the first inning, the Jaguars scored 5 runs each in both the 2nd and 3rd innings. 

           Ethan Martin pitched a 3-inning complete game, allowing only one hit and one earned run. Martin had 4 strikeouts as he faced 15 total SCC batters. 

           Martin, on his birthday, also added a triple and two RBI on the offensive end. Josiah Hefley added an RBI and one base-hit in the game. Also earning a base-hit in the game were Colton Bachel, Carter Lloyd, Tucker Ollinger, and Jackson Bintz. Ollinger and Lloyd scored two runs each. Others crossing home-plate were August Akins, Martin, Bachel, Bintz, Tristan Hanson, Reece Carlson, and Jonny Snider.  


JH Baseball vs. Madrid (June 12)


Dayton-

The 7th and 8th grade baseball teams picked up two more wins on Thursday, June 12th. In the first game of the afternoon, the 7th graders won by the score of 7-2. In the 2nd game of the day, the 8th grade team earned an 8-4 victory. 

Reece Carlson pitched four innings in the first game, striking out 5 and allowed only 4 hits in the game. Jaxon Van Cannon was the other half of the battery and did a solid job calling a game. 

Bennett Nolte went 2-2 on the day with the bat, scoring twice and driving in one RBI. Tristan Hanson also went 2-2, scoring once and had an RBI with 4 stolen bases. Nolan Albright earned a double, scored a run, and had one RBI. Grant Ott went 1-2 with one run scored and an RBI. Jax Hindt also scored a run in the game. 

In the 8th grade match-up, the Jaguars used a solid 5-run inning in the bottom of the 3rd inning to earn a come-from-behind victory. Tucker Ollinger started on the mound, pitching just one inning before Colton Bachel came in for relief. Ollinger had three strikeouts and 5 walked batters. Bachel pitched well, earning him the win in two innings of relief. 

Josiah Hefley opened up the game with a double in the bottom of the 1st inning. Hefley also added an RBI later in the 3rd. Bachel also had a hit in the 3rd inning, and later scored. Jackson Bintz and Griffin Vote also contributed in the win with a base-hit. Ollinger, August Akins, Ethan Martin, Carter Lloyd, Tristan Hanson, and Vote all scored one run each. Reece Carlson did not score, but he did add an RBI late in the game.


JH Baseball vs. Madrid (June 13)


Bennett Nolte tossed a no-hitter in just three innings of action, helping the 7th grade ball club earn a 14-0 victory over MNW on Friday, June 13th. With Nolte hitting his spots around the strike-zone, the Jaguar defense did a great job making plays in the field. Nolan Albright pitched the last inning, allowing just two hits and no runs.  


Nine different batters scored in the game, led by Griffin Vote and Tristan Hanson. Hanson earned another double, and added 2 RBI. Jax Hindt, Jaxson Johnson, Nolte, and Vote all added one RBI apiece. Grant Ott went 2-3 with the bat, earning a double and scored two runs in the game. J. Johsnon also added a hard-hit double in the bottom of the 3rd inning.



The 8th grade ball club dropped a close one to MNW on Friday the 13th, falling by the score of 7-10.  


The Jaguars earned 7 total hits in the contest, led by Tristan Hanson with a double (and an RBI) in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Tucker Ollinger added a single and scored a run in the bottom of the 5th inning. Josiah Hefley also had a base-hit single in the bottom of the 5th, driving in Ollinger. Ethan Martin went 1-2 and scored a run in the bottom of the 4th. Carter Lloyed also added a base-hit, an RBI, and scored one run in the game. Jackson Bintz added an RBI and had one hit in two at bats. Reece Carlson, Griffin Vote, and Jonny Snider all scored one run.


Pitching in the contest for SV were Tristan Hanson and August Akins, with Hefley as the catcher.
