Down 4-7 going into the bottom of the 4th inning, Josiah Hefley and Bennett Nolte got things going, earning back-to-back walks. After a couple wild pitches, Hefley soon found his way around the diamond and eventually scored bringing the deficit to 5-7. Ethan Martin, batting in the three spot in the batting order, hit the ball hard to shortstop and drove in Nolte with an RBI. Martin reached on an error. Wyatt Muench provided the fireworks needed to keep the excitement and momentum flowing. With a favorable 2-0 count, Muench roped a double to left-center, scoring Martin with ease. Muench, now standing on second, was the winning run with Tucker Ollinger up to bat. Ollinger, like a sparkler on the 4th of July, shined brightly when his team and dugout wanted him most to shine through. With another favorable count, Ollinger hit a line drive over the left side of the infield and Muench scored the winning run in walk-off fashion.
Tucker Ollinger started the game on the mound, going 3 and 1/3 innings. August Akins earned the win pitching just 2/3 of an inning. Akins pitched just three total pitches and picked off a runner on first base to get out of a jam.
An exciting game to open the month of July, and the Jaguars were thrilled they got the job done.
