Jag Baseball Opens Conference Play at Sioux Central

6/3 Sioux Central 7-0 W (2-3) (1-0 conference)

The Southeast Valley Baseball team got off on the right foot in conference play with a convincing win against Sioux Central Rebels. The Jags got four runs in the second with a lead off single by pitcher Karson Roper. Back to back walks by sophomores Landon Vote and Dawson Tuel would load the bases. A hit by pitch gave Hanson an RBI. A couple more walks then a base hit by Logan Jaeschke would score more runners. One more walk by Mason Bahr would score Colin Johnson ending the big four run inning. The scoring would slow until the sixth when the Jags would add three more with Landon Vote reaching on a hit, Ayden Bintz would walk and Colin Johnson would lay down a bunt reaching base on a misplay. All three baserunners would end up scoring, pushing to a comfortable lead. Big hitters for the Jaguars were Logan Jaeschke with two hits. Casey Hanson added two, Karson Roper added a hit and Landon Vote finished the hits with two big singles.

On the mound seven runs was more than enough for Junior Karson Roper. The dominant performance from the Junior was a thing of beauty. Throwing a complete game, two hit shutout while striking out twelve batters in the gem of a game. The Jag defense also committed no errors for Roper allowing him to wheel and deal for the first conference win of the year.

Jv action: 9-3 W (3-0)

The JV squad picked up another quality win going four innings allowing three runs in the third off pitcher Ayden Bintz. That would be all though as Ayden pitched well throughout. Ethan Martin would relieve in the third after Ayden ran out of pitches. Ethan would strike out the next two batters ending any threat of scoring more runs. Ethan would also close out the fourth inning. The offense did their job, Ayden Bintz would record two hits, runs and two runners batted in. Nick Field would single, score and record an RBI. Spencer Peterson, not to be outdone, finished with two hits and also scoring twice. Caden Cramer hit the ball hard three times, once for a hit, once a groundball that would score a runner, making two total RBI for Cramer. Ethan Martin hit the ball adding a double, and an R.B.I August Akins and Tucker Ollinger would each add a hit to the hit parade. Solid performance from the JV squad.
