SV Baseball vs South Hamilton

6/19 South Hamilton 11-5 W (6-8)

It was a good way to end the week for the Jags as they picked up a much needed win against South Hamilton. In the varsity only contest the Jags were down early but a huge third and fourth innings propelled the Jags to a huge lead and eventually the win. Cale Vansickle had the breakout game getting a huge home run in the fourth inning after Ryan Stewart singled, Casey Hanson reached on a hard hit ball. With runners in scoring position Cale took the next pitch over the fence leaving no doubt and giving the Jags the lead they needed. The Jags weren't done though getting a single in the bottom of the sixth by Casey Hanson followed by another hard hit ball from Cake Vansickle which allowed him to reach first. Tyler Jondle had a fantastic at bat earning himself a walk with bases loaded. Karson Roper stayed on fire hitting a rope down third baseline scoring Hanson and Vansickle. Logan Jaeschke would keep it rolling with a single, scoring Jondle. Almost every Jag got in the hit category but the difference was a few Jags who had been struggling at the plate finally broke through and got themselves a hit. Some standout performances were Cale Vansickle going 2-4. Tyler Jondle was on base four times going 2-3 with a walk. Karson Roper was 2-4 with a double and fellow sophomore Logan Jaeschke was 2-4 with one RBI. Brady Hanson added a single and Lenix Allbee contributed with a double which scored the first run of the game.

Evan Bintz had himself a day on the mound. Pitching the full seven innings. Hit by pitches and walks hurt Evan early in the game but he really settled in allowing his defense to help him make plays. It for sure helped the offense did their part and allowed Evan to settle in on the mound. Evan finished with five strikeouts giving up five hits in the seven innings of work. Nice way to end the week for the Jags with a full slate of games next week it will be an important week of baseball once again.

No JV Game due to low numbers from South Hamilton.
