JVR Baseball vs Sioux Central
The Jaguars JVR baseball team traveled to Peterson on June 3 to take on Sioux Central. They dropped a 6-5 decision to the Rebels in the opening game of a JVR/JV/Varsity tripleheader. August Akins and Colton Bachel each surrendered three runs pitching for the Jaguars.
On the offensive side, Ethan Martin and Akins each scored twice to lead the visitors. Akins reached on a double in the first inning and a single in the third inning and was the only Jaguar with two hits. Bachel also had a double and scored. Caden Cramer added a hit.
The big inning was the third, where the Jaguars 3, 4, and 5 hitters (Akins, Bachel and Martin) all reached and scored.
Walked batters were the downfall of the Jaguars, as the pitchers surrendered 6 free passes in 3 innings of work. The Rebels did earn 6 baserunners, tallying 6 hits.
The JVR team dropped to 2-2 on the year.
