Jags Come Up Short to the N-F Mustangs

6/22 vs. Newell Fonda 2-3 L (7-9) (3-4)

A tough game for the Jags saw them give up a two run lead in the 5th inning to the Mustangs who never relinquished it, giving them the conference win. The story of the game was the Jags inability to get a big hit. With runners in scoring position in the 1st, 2nd,4th and 5th innings the Jaguars just couldn't get a big hit instead leaving eight runners in scoring position when the third out came. Hits were few and far between which didn't help but Casey Hanson, Colin Johnson and Dawson Tuel were the lone hits for the Jags. Dawson's coming at a good time as his hit would drive in Conner Rentz for one of the Jags scores. Dawson would also score the first run of the game after a passed ball allowed him to cross home plate. It was a tough game for the bats as Karson Roper was dealing on the mound. With the exception of the three run 5th inning, Roper was holding the Mustangs in check with 10 strikeouts, allowing six hits, three of which came in the 3 run 5th inning which was the Jags undoing. Landon Vote would come in the seventh and give the Jags a shot at the end of the game but with the Mustang ace on the mound it was too much to overcome.

Jv Action: 8-3 W (11-0-1)

The JV squad stayed undefeated on the year getting a nice win to start the week. Seven walks helped the cause while the Jags added 7 hits on the day. Pitcher Ayden Bintz singled twice, scoring three times. Caden Cramer stayed hot, singling twice, gaining an RBI with each hit. Ethan Martin singled and doubled while his single would score two runners and his double scored one. Josiah Hefley would hit a triple down the line, eventually scoring. Carter Lloyd and Jackson Bintz would both round out the scoring, getting on base and crossing the plate thanks to an Ayden Bintz hit. Speaking of Ayden, he would take the mound for the win. Allowing the three runs in the 3rd inning. But didn't give up a hit, just a few miscues by the defense allowed the runners to score. In the end Ayden only allowed one hit in his four innings of work. A nice day on the mound and at the plate.
