6/12 Baseball Pocahontas 14-3 L (2-8) (1-4 Conference)

Another game and another big inning by the Jaguars opponent doomed the chances of

the Jaguars from earning their third victory of the year. Hane Sorenson took the mound for the Jags. Hane struck out six batters giving up eight runs on seven hits. Carl Berglund relieved Hane and Gauge Jones finished off the sixth inning for the Jags. Hits on the night for the Jags was once again Drew Corell who hit the ball hard three times but only showed one hit in the final tally. Drew also scored two runs for the Jaguars. Cale VanSickle had a huge bases clearing triple which scored two runners and at the time, evened up the score at 3 to 3. Another tough game with yet again one bad inning which hurt the Jags chances of winning. The Jags will try to rebound as they face Eagle Grove, East Sac and ranked Coon Rapids to finish off the week.

JV ACTION: 6-6 T (4-3-3)

The JV team once again ended their game in a tie game. They had a chance to win it in

the final inning but couldn’t muster the comeback. Down one run in the last inning Colin

Johnson lead off with a double. Then Bryson Axness followed up with a triple scoring Johnson and tying the game up. However two straight strikeouts end the inning and left the Jags with a sour taste in their mouth. Bryson Axness had himself a game getting the triple and scoring twice, exactly what you want from your lead off hitter. Dreyvon Steadman also had a big hit, a double which scored Casey Hanson who was courtesy running for Caden Kaltschnee.
