Jag Baseball Starts Fast Against Hawks

6-18 @ South Hamilton 18-2 W (7-8)

The Jaguar Baseball squad ended their week of baseball with a nice eighteen run performance against the struggling Hawks from South Hamilton. The Jaguars wanted to get a good start to the game since lately they have been starting slow. They did just that with five runs in the first inning. They would add three runs in the fourth and then put the finishing touches with a ten run fifth inning all but securing the win and the mercy rule. A first for the Jaguars this year. Senior Nick FIeld took the mound for the Jaguars. Striking out seven batters and allowing two runners to score in the third inning. Nick threw well but all he needed was three runs and he got more than he needed from an offense that was on point. Leadoff Casey Hanson was hit three times and walked twice. Casey would also score three times. Karson Roper added two hits and a hit by pitch, also scoring three times. Mason Bahr had a monster game going three for three with two doubles and a single. Kolton Ollinger singled and made the most of his single with an RBI. Conner Rentz doubled in the huge five run first inning, scoring Ollinger. Rentz would also walk and score twice. Dawson Tuel added two singles, scoring Rentz and scoring twice himself. Designated Hitter Ryan Stewart singled and scored a runner while fellow senior Colin Johnson had himself a good birthday going 4 for 4 all singles but scoring runners. Colin would score two runs making this one of his best games to date. It was an offensive explosion for the Jaguars who get themselves one game below .500 for the season. They will look to take themselves above .500 next week with a slew of games.

JV ACTION: 9-4 W (10-0-1)

The JV team kept up their winning ways with a 9-4 win against a decent JV team for South Hamilton. Hits came from Ayden Bintz, August Akins, Tucker Ollinger, Riley Fawcett, Carter Lloyd. Carter and Tucker would make the most of their hits, scoring runners. Caden Cramer and Josiah Hefley both added two hits for the Jaguars. Caden Cramer was 2-2 with two RBI. While Hefley would single and hit a ball to short which might have been an error but giving Hefley the benefit of a hit. Ethan Martin threw for the Jags. Allowing most of his runs to cross with walks or hit batters. Ethan would strike out five batters in the four innings of work. Couple of good plays from shortstop Colby Peterson allowed the defense to settle in. Good game from the Jags getting their tenth win of the season.
