Jags Dominate SCC Titans

6/26 @ South Central Calhoun 21-0 W (10-9) (5-4)

No need to re-read that score, you read it correctly. A big 21-0 win for the Jaguar Baseball team wrapped up the week of baseball. The Jags left no doubt as they came ready to play. Karson Roper started on the mound and was comfortable in his sixteen batters he faced. Roper would give up two hits while only walking one batter. An efficient night for the Junior as the defense made some plays helping out the shortened ball game. The story of the night was the offensive explosion. The Jags would be helped with some walks but things were clicking all night as they would get big hit after big hit. The leader of the pack was Conner Rentz who had a monster game getting two triples and two singles and would drive in a remarkable seven runners just missing the school record of eight set by Clayton Taylor in the 2014 season. Although he missed the record for RBI in a game, Conner would still tie the record for most triples in a game with two. An honor shared with SV greats Kolson Kruse and Sam Hanson. Conner might have missed the record but Evan Bintz had a triple while pinch hitting in the fourth inning and Landon Vote had a big triple in the previous inning. Combine those two with Conner's two triples and we have a new school record for triples in a game with four. This would break the record set in 2019 which was three triples. The Jags would have a total of 14 hits on the game just missing the record of 15 hits set way back in 2014 against Madrid. Rundown on the offense started with Casey Hanson walking twice and getting a sac fly in his last at bat. Logan Jaeschke was 3 for 3 with a double and two singles while getting a RBI in the process. Mason Bahr was two for two with a single and a double, matching Jaeschke with one RBI. Dawson Tuel would walk and single, gaining an RBI on both at bats. Kolton Ollinger would score four times, walking twice and base hit once. Ollinger reached on a fielder's choice his first at bat. Landon Vote as mentioned earlier had a triple and added a single to boot. Of course the big night belonged to Conner Rentz to finish all the hitting for the Jags. Because of the big lead a lot of Jags got to see some pitches. Nick Field, Ryan Stewart, Caden Cramer and Ayden Bintz would all get at bats in the contest. Nice win for the Jags who seem to be building some momentum towards post season play next Friday.

Jv action: 12-1 W (13-0-2)

The jv squad handled their business in a lopsided victory against conference foe South Central Calhoun. Ayden Bintz took the mound and dominated with a tight strike zone. Ayden really threw a gem of a game but had a few walks but considering the tight zone he did really well. There were a plethora of walks in the game but the Jags had timely hits and took advantage of the walks and some passed balls. Colton Bachel, Josiah Hefley, Ayden Bintz, Caden Cramer and Tucker Ollinger were hit leaders for the Jags even though it was an uneventful jv game the Jags did what they needed to capitalize on the gifts from the Titan defense. This adds thirteen total wins on the season and no losses at this point. The Jags are looking at finishing the season undefeated with three games left in the season.
