Tuel Walks It Off Two Nights in a Row
6/12 Alta-Aurelia 5-4 (5-6) (3-1)
A crazy game ended in the Jags favor in a conference matchup against the Warriors. The game would go into extra innings as the Jags would get a double from Karson Roper in the eighth inning. A passed ball would send Roper to third and the Jags could feel it as Jags fans started believing in deja vu. With a repeat circumstance from the night before as Mr. Clutch Dawson Tuel would single to right allowing Roper to score from third ending the game for the second night in a row with a walk off in the 8th inning for a 5-4 win.
Once again the game kept the Jaguar fans on the edge of their seats when the Warriors had a two run, two out rally in the 7th to send the game into extra innings. The Jags were very close to ending the game in the 7th but credit to the Warriors for overcoming the deficit. Juniors Evan Bintz and Kolton Ollinger pitched really well for the Jags. Ollinger had some really clutch pitches while Evan threw 5 and 2/3rds innings before reaching his max pitch count. Evan threw really well giving up three hits one of which was a two run home run but outside of that he allowed his defense to help against a well disciplined hitting team. Ollinger showed a lot of toughness making really big pitches in clutch situations late in the game. The duo of Mason Bahr and Karson Roper continue to excel both going 2 for 4. No bigger hit then Roper’s lead off double in the 8th inning and of course scoring the game winner. Landon Vote continued to have big at bats for the Jags. Going 1-2 and scoring a runner on his hit. Not to be outdone Casey Hanson would single and drive in a runner as well in the tight contested game. The Jags would struggle early with another top of the conference pitcher throwing them curveballs early in the count. However the Jags made the right adjustments eventually and did just enough to get the win taking them to 3-1 in conference.
JV ACTION: 14-9 W (6-0-1)
Another offensive explosion for the Jags jv squad as Colby Peterson would have two singles. August Akins would do the same with a double and single. The double would score two runners also. Jackson Bintz would do his job of scoring a runner with a groundball to second. Pitcher Caden Cramer helped his cause, hitting the ball hard two times, scoring twice. Riley Fawcett would get on base both times recording an rbi with a hit by pitch. Ethan Martin would single, scoring two runners on the hit. Carter Lloyd would round out the hits with a single. Once again every Jag would reach base as Colton Bachel would walk, Tucker Ollinger would hit into a fielders choice and Josiah Hefley would courtesy run for catcher Ayden Bintz scoring all three times on base. Jv team stays undefeated on the season with excellent hitting and solid defense. Caden Cramer pitched in the contest with some walks being an issue which isn't very common with Caden. The sophomore came through some adversity and did a solid job on the mound considering giving up the uncharacteristic walks.
