Jag Baseball 5/30 @ Sioux Central 4-11 L (0-3)
The Jag baseball team lost in their first conference game of the season at the hands of the
rebels from Sioux Central. The Jags started off with a run in the first inning off the bat of Hane Sorenson which scored Tyler Jondle. Unfortunately the rebels answered back with 5 runs of their own to take the lead and never vanquish it. The Jags fought hard all night though and showed some toughness. Cale VanSickle, Kaden Holder, Lenix Allbee and LoganJaeschke took the mound for the jags. Lenix and Logan showed a lot of gutsy pitching, ending their innings with no runs scored. Tyler Jondle scored three times for the jags while adding a double. Casey Hanson, Hane Sorenson and Caden Kaltschnee all added hits for the Jaguars. Hane Sorenson would score the last run of the game after a hard hit ball from Kaden Holder. Jags keep improving but just fall short of their first win in the early season.
JV Action: 8-2 W (2-0-1)
Same results after a JVR game as the Jag JV team sealed their second win. Paced by Karson Roper on the mound. Roper gave up three hits on three runs but all unearned runs. Roper was phenomenal on the mound throwing a great game to Nick Field who caught the gem. Hits were plenty with Colin Johnson and Logan Jaeschke getting a hit each. Lenix Allbee had two big hits, one a double while Jaxon Meyer matched him with a single and double while scoring two runners. Lincoln Akins finished the team with two scores on the day.
Jvr action: 6-2 W (1-0)
The JVR squad came up with a big win to start the long day of baseball. Evan Bintz started for the Jags. Evan was on a pitch count so only threw one inning of work before Kolton Ollinger came into pitch. Ollinger was dealing, giving up one hit over three innings. Just what you want to see from the young freshmen thrower. Combined Bintz and Ollinger gave up one earned run. The JVR squad banged up from injuries was mostly a JV squad but Ayden Bintz saw some action at catcher and scored twice on two hard hit balls. Kolton Ollinger helped his cause by adding a hit and eventually scoring. Jaxon Meyer had a nice double while Lincoln Akins had two big hits one of them a double. Not to be out done, Colin Johnson added two hits also gaining an RBI in the process. Ryan Stewart finished the hitting with a double.
