SV Baseball vs Sioux Central

6/4 Sioux Central 8-10 L (2-3)

A tough pill to swallow as the Jag baseball team let one slip past them as the Rebels of Sioux Central scored 8 runs in the top of the seventh to shock the Jags. Walks and hit by pitches once again hurt the Jags in that final inning but before that Karson Roper started on the mound and threw a heck of a game giving up two unearned runs. Striking out eight batters in the first conference game of the year. Evan Bintz and Mason Bahr would relieve Karson.

Jags got on the board in the third inning with a hit by pitch and a walk. Karson Roper would hit a groundball which scored Gauge Jones and an errant throw from the catcher would score Brady Hanson. The Jags finally exploded in the fifth inning with with a double from Gauge Jones, base hit by Karson Roper which drove in Jones. Hit by pitch and a nice pinch hit by freshmen Conner Rentz set up the rally if six runs in the 5th inning. Unfortunately, the Rebels fought back and stole the conference win from the Jags. Casey Hanson did his job getting on base all five at bats. Three walks, one hit by pitch and a single. Tyler Jondle hit the ball hard every time but only recorded one hit. Brady Hanson would add a hit a single while Mason Bahr finished out hits with a single.

JV 10-0 W (4-1)

Alot of offense allowed the Jag jv squad a convincing ten run victory. Colin Johnson lead things off with a double eventually scoring. Caden Kaltschnee would have two hits and score twice. Ayden Bintz would have two walks. Kolton Ollinger had a nice day with two hits, one of which scored two of his teammates. Nick Field was dialed in on the mound. Throwing four innings striking out six and getting some big plays from the defense. Dawson Tuel had a nice double play touching third and throwing it across to end the fourth inning. All around good performance from a solid jv squad.

JVR 8-1 W (1-1)

The junior varsity reserve squad got their first win of the early season as they lead off the day with an 8-1 final score. The freshmen came to play with Colby Peterson having two hits and two RBI's. Caden Milham was hitless but did a job and got a runner to score. Colton Haug would get a single, while Jacob Patterson would get ahold of one and reach third for a triple and scoring a run in the process. Landon Vote would add a double scoring Paterson right after and added another double in the game. Dawson Tuel added a double and a Sac Fly adding two runs to the scoreboard. Conner Rentz would also single in the game. Nice win for the JVR squad as they continue to improve and show the future is bright.
