SV Boys Golf compete at Emmetsburg, finish with a second place team score with a 159. 

Emmetsburg, the prior year’s conference champions and a State qualifying team the last two years, won the meet with a 147 team total. 

GTRA came in 3rd with a 166 and SCC an 182. 

SV scores were highlighted by Hane Sorenson’s one over par 36 and Karson Roper’s two over par 37. Sorenson was honored with a four hole playoff for the runner-up position. Unfortunately, he lost to the previous year’s conference winner and a state qualifier in a battle for the runner-up honors on the night. 

Other notable scores for SV in the match were Will Comp with a 41, and Hayden Butrick with a 45. 

Declan McGuire, playing as the JV #1 also shot a 45. The JV scored a 190 as a team. 

Coach Dahlstrom commented, “We played well again, stayed focused. Comp, Hane, and Roper all stayed locked in. They battled some of the best competition in the conference tonight. Hane birdied his last hole; his confidence was great, we could all see it. Playing in that playoff, even after falling short, will be such a positive for him going throughout the season. Roper played a great round as a freshman, on a new course for him. In fact, it was a new course to be played for everyone. It was a great night for us.”
