SV Boys Golf Recap: MNW 184, SEV 160

The Southeast Valley boys golf team posted its lowest 9-hole team score of the season with a 160, improving to 5-3 on the spring season.

Karson Roper led the way as meet medalist, firing a one-over-par 36 highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 6th hole. Dawson Tuel earned runner-up honors with a 40, finishing strong down the stretch. Declan McGuire continued his consistent play with a solid 41. Benson Konecne, Linkin Roper, and Hayden Greene all carded 43s to round out the varsity lineup.

MNW was led by Christian Amspoker with a 43, and Keaton Wittrock with a 44.

Southeast Valley's JV squad also shot a season low 204, led by Colton Haug (44) and Ashtyn Owens (48). Blaine Peterson added a 54, followed by Landon Richardson (58), Tavin Goeders (60), and Brodie Lavine (62).  

The meet took place Friday, April 24 in Gowrie, after being rescheduled from Thursday’s originally planned location in Dayton. After a night of classic Iowa spring storms, the teams were greeted with calm winds and sunny skies. The golfing conditions were excellent, with minimal wind and early spring temperatures reaching around 63 degrees by the end of the meet.
