Jaguar Boys Golf Close Out Successful ‘26 Season
The SV Jaguars competed in Sectionals on Wednesday, May 13th, competing in an 18-hole event played at the beautiful River Bend 9-hole course in Story City . The Jaguars shot a team score of 356, finishing tied for 5th place out of eight 2A schools.
Team scores came in as follows: Roland-Story 324, South Hamilton 324, South Central Calhoun 333, Woodward-Granger 347, Southeast Valley 356, Ogden 356, East Sac County 358, and Manson Northwest Webster 394. Roland-Story, South Hamilton and SCC all move on to compete in Districts on Monday, May 18. Individually, an 82 card and an 84 card advanced on to compete in Districts as well.
Declan McGuire led the Jags with an 87, wrapping up a consistent golf game this season. Karson Roper came in with an 88, after a solid 41 on the second round through the course. Benson Konecne and Linkin Roper also scored for SV with a 90 and 91. Dawson Tuel shot 93 and Hayden Greene shot a 95.
The Varsity core finished 19-21 on the year, and 7-4 in conference match-ups either contested in TLC Duals or Quads. The Varsity team averaged a 174 team score on the year. Karson Roper, Linkin Roper, Benson Konecne, Declan McGuire and Dawson Tuel all earned at least one individual low score medal throughout the short spring season.
