Southeast Valley hosted their own SV Boy’s track & field invitational in Gowrie on Monday night, April 13th. While the varsity team claimed the class A title, the JV team had a night of their own competing finishing 3rd place overall in the class B division, finishing behind the GTRA and Paton Churdan Varsity teams who won the meet taking 1st and 2nd place respectively in the team race.

The Jaguars found gold in three of the events in class B. Brock Norine threw the discus a season best 111-02’ and August Akins crossed the finish line in a season best 5:20.40 in the 1600m to finish first. Teammate Kasen Loeffler was on the heels of August in the 1600 running a 5:20.82 season best to take the silver. The shuttle hurdle team of Trennis Stevens, Leo Ramirez, Keelan Wellman and Colden Mapel also found gold in a time of 1:08.4. Colden also found silver in the 110m high hurdles in a time of 17.46.

Two relays also found silver Monday night. The 4 x 100m relay team of Riley Fawcett, Leo Ramirez, Jaiden Johnson and Colden Maple also took the silver medal with a season best 47.44. The quartet of Ethan Martin, Tennis Stevens, Landon Vote and Josiah Hefley ran a 3:48.08 for second in the 4 x 400m relay.

Evan Frana won bronze in the shot put throwing 36-03.75” and Trennis Stevens took 3rd in the 110m high hurdles in 19.71. Drew Dorsey, Logan Bintz, Blaise Echevarria and Wyatt Blair also took 3rd place in the 4 x 800m relay with a time of 10:07.90.

Fourth place finishes went to Kyle Eastman, discus (92-08”, PR), Ethan Martin, long jump (18-10” PR), and Asher Loeffler, 400m hurdles (1:12.59). The 4 x 200m relay of Josiah Hefley, Asher Loeffler, Parker Bintz and Tucker Ollinger also was 4th (1:44.75).

Logan Bintz found fifth place in the 400m dash (1:00.34) while the sprint medley relay team of Chris Andrews, Asher Loeffler, Parker Bintz and Tucker Ollinger was 6th in the sprint medley relay. Jaiden Johnson set a PR in the long jump with a jump of 15-08.5”

The Jaguars will compete in senior night in Gowrie at the Southeast Valley coed relays on Monday, April 20th before heading to Newell-Fonda on Friday, April 24th. The Jaguars will also have three events competing in the Drake Relays on Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th.
