SV Boys' Track & Field Invite Varsity Results

Southeast Valley hosted their own SV Boy’s track & field invitational in Gowrie on Monday night, April 13th. The 12 team field was divided into two classes, with the Jaguar’s varsity team claiming the class A team title; their second of their year and the JV team finishing third overall in the class B varsity class.

Southeast Valley continues to impress this season as they won five total events including two school records, two meet records, several top-ten finishes and season best times. Three relays finished first on the night. The shuttle hurdle team (Alex Burger, Casey Hanson, Kolton Ollinger, Colin Johnson) took gold as they set a meet record time of 1:02.93 and the 4 x 100m team (C. Hanson, L. Jaeschke, C. Johnson, K. Showers) also set a meet record as well as a school record with a time of 43.43. The 4 x 400m team (K. Ollinger, L. Jaeschke, K. Wellman, C. Johnson) also broke the school record finishing in a time of 3:32.06.

Winning two individual golds on the night was Alex Burger who claimed the long jump title in 21-05” and the 400m low hurdles running as season best 55.61. 2nd place finishes for the Jaguars went to Deegan Brandel with a 129-0” throw in the discus (PR, 7th all-time), Logan Jaeschke in the 100m dash running 12.02, Colin Johnson in the 110m hurdles (15.48) and Lincoln Akins running 4:54.48 (PR, 5th all-time) in the 1600m run.

Individual bronze medal winners for the Jaguars were Ian Brunner who threw 44-6.5” in the shot put and Kolton Ollinger in the long jump (19-03.25”, PR). The distance medley team of Leo Ramirez, Bryce Harrison, Ethan Martin and Lincoln Akins also claimed 3rd with a time of 3:57.96.

Fourth place finishes went to Deegan Brandel, shot put (40-5.5”, PR), Colden Mapel, high jump (5’ 6”) Owen Nuss, 3200m run (12:01.54) and the 1600m run (4:57.82, PR, 6th all-time), Kolton Ollinger, 110m high hurdles (16.08) and Kayden Showers, 200m dash (23.52).

Other outstanding performances was a fifth place finish of 9:34.61 in the 4 x 800m relay by Landon Vote, August Akins, Kasen Loeffler and Ethan Tucker and the sprint medley relay of Riley Fawcett, Leo Ramirez, Tennis Stevens and Josiah Hefley in a time of 1:45.78. Drew Dorsey set a season best time in the 800m run in a time of 2:24.30.  

The Jaguars will compete in senior night in Gowrie at the Southeast Valley coed relays on Monday, April 20th before heading to Newell-Fonda on Friday, April 24th. The Jaguars will also have three events competing in the Drake Relays on Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th.
