Jaguars Get Past Rebels

Sioux Rapids, IA ~ The volleyball squad traveled to Sioux Rapids on Thursday, September 11th to face the Rebels of Sioux Central. It took five sets, but the girls won the conference battle by the scores of 25-21, 25-18, 19-25, 20-25, 15-9. Individual highlights of the match were Camryn Lane had 15 assists. Madelyn Farley led the team with an average 3.4 kills per game. Rian Schlief had 9 kills and Lizzie Thompson had 6. Kayla Field had 17 digs which averaged to 3.4 saves a game. Kinslie Nolte served at 90% and averaged 1.4 ace serves per game. The team served at 91.1% and had 18 ace serves during the night.  


In the two games that the girls lost, they struggled maintaining their offense and had some missed serves at crucial points which changed the momentum of the game. However, the ladies were bound and determined to win the match which they did. They played smart at the end.


The team is 8-1 overall and 3-0 in conference. They face Manson NW Webster 10-2, (1-1 conference) and Emmetsburg 5-3 (3-0 conference) next week at home in a triangular in Gowrie, Tuesday night, September 16th.



JV Wins in Three

The junior varsity girls opened by losing the first game but came back to win the match in three sets 16-25, 25-8, 15-11. Serving at 100% was Goldie Davis, Trinity Anderson, Mylee Swanson, and Reagan Pearson. Kalli Thompson had four ace serves while Anderson had three. Mae Searcy also had three ace serves for the night. The team only had eight kills for the night with Addi Larson and Reagan Pearson having two each. The team went 1-0 for the week and stands at 4-3 overall.     


JVR Struggles and Loses in Two

Rebels defeated the JVR team by the scores of 25-27 and 15-25.  

Serving at 100% were Charlotte Blair and Jaylon Zika. Bella Smith had five kills followed by Jaylon Zika who had three. Other contributing kills were Jacey Carlson, Charlotte Blair, and Shayden Hefley. In the third game of the night, Molly VanSickle had three ace serves. The team went 3-1 for the week.
