Jaguars Lose on the Road
West Bend, IA ~ The Jaguars traveled to West Bend to face the Wolverines in conference play. The girls lost in four by the scores of 26-25, 20-25, 25-18, and 23-25. Highlights of the match: Senior setter Camryn Lane had 20 assists for the night. The team averaged 8.8 assists per set. Madelyn Farley led the team with 4.8 kills per game. Riley Carlson had two solo blocks while Rian Schlief had 20 digs and four ace serves. The team had a total of 45 kills but also had 30 errors with their attacks for an efficiency factor of only .094 per set. The team served 93.3% efficiently. The team averaged 17.3 saves per game. The team is 17-6 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
JV and JVR Win
The JVR team started the night by defeating WB-M by the scores of 21-11 and 21-13. They ended up playing another game and won by the score of 21-15. All players were able to play during the match. Perfect behind the serving line was Charlotte Blair, Shayden Hefley, Bella Smith, Tenley Kastendieck, and Addi Lundquist. Blair had five ace serves while Hefley and Smith had two each. Lundquist had one ace serve. Brylee Alliger was able to serve eight serves in a row with six of them aces in the third set. Smith led the team with seven kills while Maddie Miller and Bella Dorsey each had three. Alliger had two kills while Hefley and Emily Wilson had one each. Blair led the team with eight assists, Kastendieck and Jacey Carlson tallied up two assists each. Others having assists were Addi Lundquist and Peyton Lockner.
JV Wins in Three
The girls opened their match losing to the Wolverines 20-22, 21-7, 15-10. They turned things around and won the next two by the scores of 21-7 and 15-10. Perfect behind the serving line for the night were Kalli Thompson who had one ace serve and Mylee Swanson with two ace serves. The team served 95% efficiency. Other players who had ace serves were: Trinity Anderson, Goldie Davis, and Farrah Tuel. Thompson had nine assists while Farrah Tuel had six. Trinity Anderson had five kills, Kallie Thompson and Sage Lane had two kills. Mae Searcy and Reagan Pearson had four kills each. Trinity Anderson had three kills and Swanson and Tuel chipped in one kill. The team is 12-8 overall.
Freshmen travel to Sioux Central to an invitational that has eight teams on Monday, October 13th.
Senior Night is Thursday, October 16th in Gowrie. Start times are different since GTRA (Graettinger) does not have a JVR.
JV will begin their match at 5:30 with varsity to follow. Senior Recognition will be between JV and Varsity matches.
