Jags Volleyball Wins Two
Lake City, IA ~ The Jaguars traveled to Lake City to face conference foes Pocahontas Area and South Central Calhoun for two conference matches.
The girls fell behind the first two sets against the Indians, but came back to win by the scores of 23-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-19 and 15-6. Highlights of the match were Camryn Lane with a total of 23 assists averaging 4.6 assists per set during the match. Madelyn Farley averaged three kills per set while Rian Schlief averaged 3.2 digs per game. Riley Carlson had two blocks and Madelyn Farley averaged 1.4 ace serves per game. The team had a total of 53 kills, four blocks, 60 saves(digs) and 12 ace serves. They served at 92.8% serve efficiency.
In the second match of the night, the girls controlled the tempo of the match against the Titans of South Central Calhoun. They won by the scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-19. Liberty Suchan had 19 assists which averaged out to 6.3/set. Madelyn Farley averaged 5.7 kills per game while Kayla Field had 19 saves that averaged to 6.3 digs/set. Madelyn Farley averaged one ace serve per game and Riley Carlson had two blocks. The team had a total of 35 kills (11.7 kills per game), three blocks, and 50 saves. They averaged 16.7 digs per set. The Jaguars had eight ace serves and served at 91.3% efficiency.
The varsity squad travels to Algona on Saturday, September 27th and will have matches against Bishop Garrigan, St. Ansgar, North Iowa, Garner Hayfield-Ventura, Belmond-Klemme, and West Hancock.
The team is 11-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
