JV Places 3rd at Their Own Invitational

Gowrie, IA ~ The Southeast Valley JV Invitational was held Saturday, September 20th at the high school. It was an eight team invite with teams from Greene County, Ogden, East Sac County, Carroll, Pocahontas Area, South Central Calhoun and Eagle Grove participating.  


The girls ended up 3rd overall and going 4-1 for the day. They won their Pool by defeating Eagle Grove by the scores of 21-1 and 21-8. In the second match they beat Ogden by the scores of 22-20 and 21-13. The third match the girls defeated Pocahontas Area by the scores of 21-5 and 21-13. Pocahontas Area ended up second in the pool followed by Ogden then Eagle Grove.


In the other Pool, East Sac County placed first followed by Carroll who was second. Greene County was third and SCC ended up fourth.


In the Championship flight the Jaguars lost by the scores of 19-21 and 12-21 to Carroll. They defeated PAC for third place by the scores of 21-15, 15-21 and 15-6. Carroll ended up winning the Jaguar Invitational with East Sac County earning runner-up.  


With the other matches, Greene County defeated Ogden for 5th place, Ogden was 6th, Eagle Grove was 7th and SCC ended up 8th.


The SV Jaguar junior varsity squad consisted of Kalli Thompson, Mae Searcy, Trinity Anderson, Reagan Pearson, Farrah Tuel, Addie Larson, Goldie Davis, Sage Lane, Mylee Swanson, Avrie Hanson, Charlotte Blair, and Jaylon Zika.  


The JV travels to Emmetsburg for a quadrangular on Monday, September 22nd. Matches begin at 5:30 PM.


A big thank you to the whole high school volleyball team (workers), Mr. Brian Hanson and the coaches in managing and operating a smooth tournament. The tournament began at 8:30 AM and finished a little after 3:15.
