Jag Volleyball Tournament and East Sac County Results
Jags Go 4-2 at B.G. Tournament
Algona, IA ~ The varsity volleyball squad traveled up north to Algona to participate in the annual Bishop Garrigan VB Tournament. There were seven teams present. The Jags ended up third.
The team opened the day defeating the Bears of Garrigan by the scores of 21-17 and 21-16. Camryn Lane had eight assists while Madelyn Farley had three kills. Farley led the team with 8 digs and Riley Carlson had two blocks. In the second match of the day, the girls lost #1 Class 1A St. Ansgar by the scores of 10-21 and 9-21. The team struggled offensively and only had three kills during the match. Rian Schlief had two kills. Farley led the team with 7 saves and the team served at 94.9% efficiency. In the third match the girls defeated North Iowa by the scores of 21-16 and 21-14. Camryn Lane had nine assists while Rian Schlief had four. Riley Carlson had one block and Liberty Suchan had eight digs. Farley averaged 1.5 ace serves per set and the team served at 100% efficiency. In the fourth match the team defeated West Hancock by the scores of 21-4 and 21-9. Lane had nine assists while Farley averaged 2.5 kills per game. Rian Schlief had 6 digs and she also averaged 2.5 ace serves per set. The team served at 97.5% efficiency. In the fifth match the girls defeated Belmond-Klemme by the scores of 21-4 and 21-14. Liberty Suchan led the team with six assists. Madelyn Farley average two kills per game while Rian Schlief had five saves. Farley had two ace serves and the team served at 94.5% efficiency. In the final match of the day, the ladies lost to Garner Hayfield-Ventura by the scores of 21-4, 10-21 and 10-15. Camryn Lane had eight assists while Farley had four kills. Riley Carlson had one block and Liberty Suchan led the team with seven digs. Rian Schlief averaged one ace serve per set and the team served at 90.5%.
Jaguars Defeat Raiders in Conference Match-Up
Gowrie, IA ~ The Jaguars hosted the Raiders of East Sac County Tuesday night in a conference match. The team won by the scores of 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-19. Camryn Lane led the team with 14 assists. Rian Schlief averaged 2.8 kills per set. Riley Carlson had three blocks. Kayla Field had 23 digs while Rian Schlief averaged 1.3 ace serves per game. The team served at 93.8% efficiency and had 15 ace serves during the match. The team had 40 kills to the Raiders 50. The girls improved to 16-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play. They face Ogden Thursday night in a home match.

The girls started off strong against East Sac winning the first set by the score of 21-10. However, they struggled in the next two games losing by 18-21 and 4-15. They had difficulty receiving the ball and setting up their offense in game three. Trinity Anderson led the team with six kills. Kallie Thompson, Trinity Anderson, Mylee Swanson, Jaylon Zika, Farrah Tuel, and Addie Larson were perfect behind the serving line. Thompson had three ace serves while Mae Searcy had one. Thompson led the team with 10 assists and Farrah Tuel had three. The team is 10-7 overall.
JVR. The junior varsity reserve team lost by the scores of 21-17, 7-21 and 13-15. Perfect behind the serving line was Shayden Hefley and Tenley Kastendieck. Charlotte Blair, Shayden Hefley, and Bella Smith all had two ace serves each. Blair led the team with eight assists while Kastendieck had four. Bella Smith had four kills and Addi Lundquist had two. The team served over 91% efficiency for the night.
