Jags Top Ogden
Gowrie, IA ~ The varsity team kept things rolling by defeating Ogden (10-5) Thursday night at home in Gowrie. The team won by the scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-14. Highlights of the night was Camryn Lane with 17 assists while Liberty Suchan had 14. Madelyn Farley led the team with 4.7 kills per match. Farley also had a block and Riley Carlson did too. Kayla Field had 19 digs that averaged 6.3 per set. Lizzie Thompson led the team with two ace serves. The Jaguars had 42 kills to Ogden’s 25. The team had 56 digs compared to the Bulldogs 44. The team served at 91.4% while Ogden was only 88.2% proficient. The next match for the Jaguars is Thursday at West Bend-Mallard. West Bend is 14-4 overall and 5-3 in conference. The Jaguars are 17-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Emmetsburg is still rated in 2A and is 12-3 overall and 10-0 in conference play.
JV Wins
The junior varsity team came out swinging and defeated the Bulldogs by the scores of 21-18 and 21-14. This is the second time the girls defeated the Bulldogs. They played and defeated them in their JV tournament back in mid-September. Trinity Anderson had five kills while Sage Lane had four. Other players contributing a kill during play were Goldie Davis, Addi Larson, Reagan Pearson, and Mae Searcy. Perfect behind the serving line were Mae Searcy, Mylee Swanson, and Farrah Tuel. Kalli Thompson had eight assists while Tuel had six. The team is 11-7 overall.
JVR Loses in Two
The junior varsity reserve struggled with serve receive which prevented them from setting up their offense by the scores of 18-21 and 19-21. Charlotte Blair had seven assists and Bella Smith led the team with five kills. Shayden Hefley had four kills while Addi Lundquist, Maddie Miller and Jaycee Carlson had two kills each. Hefley had three ace serves while Carlson and Blair had two. During the 45 minutes of play, all of the players were able to participate.
