Jags Go 2-4 at Bishop Invitational
Algona, IA ~ The Jaguars went 2-4 at the annual Bishop Garrigan Invitational on Saturday, September 28th. The team started the day losing to North Iowa (Buffalo Center) by the scores of 19-21 and 17-21. They lost to Garner Hayfield-Ventura by the scores of 23-21, 15-21, 6-15. In the third match of the day, they defeated West Hancock (Britt) 21-12 and 21-13. They played the Saints of St. Angsar and lost that match by 9-21 and 13-21. In the fifth match they lost to Garrigan by the scores of 21-13, 22-24, and 13-15. In the final match for the day the girls defeated the Bronco of Belmond-Klemme by 21-15, 20-22, 15-10.
Leading the Jaguars in kills for the day was Madelyn Farley with 29. Followed by Rian Schlief with 23, Lizzie Thompson- 18, Riley Carlson- 14, Liberty Suchan-11, Mila Johnson- 4, and Kayla Field-2. Assists for the day were Camryn Lane and Rian Schlief with each having 40. Annabelle MacRunnel led the team in digs with 12, followed by Anna Corell with 10 and Madeyn Farley having 6. Players leading in ace serves were Annabelle MacRunnel and Rian Schlief each having 6, Madelyn Farley had 5, Anna Corell with 4, Lizzie Thompson had 3 and Camryn Lane with 2.
The team is 6-15 overall and 2-6 in conference standings. There are three weeks left of the regular season with matches against East Sac County (away), Ogden (away), West Bend-Mallard (home and senior night) and GTRA (away in Graettinger).
