9/5/2025-Offense Pounds and Defense Shines, JVR Jaguars win 20-0 over SCC Titans.

With the weather cooperating and the sun shining brightly, the JVR Jaguar Football squad made its way to Rockwell City to play the Titans of South Central Calhoun. The JVR offense focused on an old school approach of "3 yards and a cloud of dust" football dominating time of possession throughout the game behind the masterful play calling of Offensive Coordinator, Coach Aaron Swieter, taking a 8-0 lead into halftime with the score coming from a Declan McGuire touchdown run after possessing the football for 8 minutes and 30 seconds of the 2nd quarter.

The second half was much of the same from the Jaguar Offense, a controlled offensive approach mixing runs from the Fullback, Tailback and Quarterback positions. Landon Vote, Dawson Tuel, Jacob Paterson, Conner Rentz and Declan McGuire all contributed in the backfield to keep the offense humming. Declan McGuire led the way in the backfield scoring twice for the Jaguars. Dawson Tuel also contributed a rushing touchdown from the Quarterback position with Jake Paterson contributed with some big, physical runs from the Fullback position.

The Jaguar defense set the tone early for this game, dominating the South Central Calhoun Offense and ensuring they earned every inch of offense while they possessed the ball.  The JVR Jaguar defense created a lot of highlight type plays while shutting out the South Central Calhoun Offense on Thursday night including a multitude of Quarterback Sacks, an Interception and a Blocked Punt. Leading the way for the Jaguar defense was Korbin Spangler with a number of tackles for loss and sacks, Deegan Brandel with multiple big plays including the Blocked Punt and Conner Rentz who came up with a Big Interception in the 3rd Quarter.

The JVR Jaguars will be off until Homecoming Week when they will play a curtain raiser before the Varsity against the Des Moines Christian Lions. GO JAGS!!!!
